Engineers Without Borders - Finland
EWB Finland (Insinöörit ilman rajoja ry., Ingenjörer utan gränser rf.) was established in 2005 and registered in 2007. During 2008, our first full year of operation, we aim to expand our membership base to include a reasonable number of both professional engineers, engineering students and other likeminded individuals. We also aim to link up with companies and organisations that could support our activities.
EWB-Finland plans to operate both in Finland and abroad. The planned domestic activities include information dissemination on human development and sustainable engineering, through newsletters, lectures, discussions, the internet, etc. Internationally, EWB Finland aims to participate in development projects, which include an engineering component, in collaboration with local organisations.
As a young organisation, EWB Finland has limited resources to initiate its own projects and activities. Therefore, we are looking for partnerships with other Finnish and international organisations.
